Softer boots: who's got the best?

Thread Starter
I read some reviews in various magazines from this year on softer boots, and the Salomon Ellipse 10.0 seemed to stand out pretty well. I get extremely sore shins from stiff boots, I guess because of shitty rentals and the shape of my legs or something. People on Powdermag have been telling me that boots are more critical than even skis. So I'm tempted to buy into this whole softer boot craze. The question is this: what is the best performing softer boot for a freerider with narrow feet? Would tighter be better in a softer boot to assure more sensitivity? Anybody got any other suggestions for softer boots to try? Oh, and foam insultion. Do most places inject foam insulation now, or is that just the higher level boot shops? Is foam necessary in a soft boot? Fill me in, guys. Thanks.
