Availability of men's small boots

Interested in a alpine oriented boot with a walk feature for next year. Tried a 25.5 Salomon Quest Max 120 and found the shell to be too big. Currently have 15yr old Salomon Equipe 9.0 in 25.5 (BSL 295). My feet measure out to 24.5(L) and 25.0(R). The Lange, Tecnica and Salomon websites say that their boots are available in 24.5, but do shops really carry this small size or will I have to special order?

Also what's up with the flex ratings? The Quest Max 120 felt really soft compared to the Ghost 120.

Most manufacturers offer their higher end boots down to 22 and 23 ( and in some cases 21) shells in "unisex" colors. Most of your higher end shops that specialize in boot fitting should carry 24's for you to work with. Where are you located, we might be able to direct you to a shop will will have inventory for you to work with.

Thanks Phil. I'm in Portland, Or but also head over to Bend a few times a year.

Look up Mark Elling, he is at Mt. Bachelor. Mark is one of the most prominent boot fitters in your region ( and country) and worth the trip for you.
