TRs - June 2013 Skiing

Rather than post many separate TRs or take up too much space in the "Who is still skiing" thread, I'll put together a sort of Cliff's Notes version thread.

On

June 1st I skied Mammoth's closing day with gone2alpine and a few others...

As you can see from the empty run, there were very few others there for closing day. (This day also brought me up to 116 consecutive months skiing.)

June 3rd, Castle Peak with dookey67...

Stev...

Castle Peak panorama...

Our first run started just to looker's right of the peak. We did transitional runs under the peak. Then we did a bootpack up one of the chutes at looker's left. We also skied a couple of east facing runs on the other of the peak.

June 4th, Webber Ridge with dookey67...

Stev...

Moving (actually a road trip) to Montana soon...

June 7th, Lost Trail, Montana with my wife and our dogs Makisha and Penny...

(Since I didn't have a trail map Penny and Makisha showed me the way to go.)

June 10th, Saint Mary Peak, Montana with my wife and our dogs Makisha and Penny...

Makisha and Stev head down below the lookout...

There was also some pretty cool glade skiing on the way down...

More local skiing next...

June 13th, Roundtop and Sisters with dookey67 and our friend Casey.

dookey67...

Stev...

June16th, The Nipple with gone2alpine and Rossi...

Stev...

June18th, Leavitt Lake/Ski Lake with dookey67, Makisha and Penny.

Ski Lake panorama on the hike up...

After skiing a backside patch, we would ski the "North America Patch" above Makisha and Penny for our second run.

Stev and Penny on a backside patch...

dookey67 on the "North America Patch" above Leavitt Lake...

June 19th, Highland Lakes with dookey67...

Stev, Stev, Stev and Stev...

June 21st, Mt. Lola with gone2alpine and dookey67

3 dookey67s...

Stev...

I hope to add some more days before the end of the month.

(Go to patchskiing.com if you would like to see more than the Cliff's Notes version shown here.)

Great stuff, connecting the dots. A road map of that trip would help us clueless types here in SoFlo.

4ster, thanks for the kind words.
Snokat, I'll add more details on the locations tonight. Heading back to Highland Lakes today for a snow conditions recon mission. I need to see how the past three days of scattered showers treated the snow. (BTW - Highland Lakes is west of Ebbetts Pass off of Hwy. 4)

Nice that you're still getting after it.  How is the snow holding up?

There is still good snow quality. Plenty of smooth turns are available. However, things are full-on wicked witch of the west ("I'm melting...") where long patches skied last week have shrunk and separated into two or three little patches.
