Well, I think you'll be sorry. What I understand is that they want to make that part of the mountain "better utilized," especially on storm days (where it is protected comparatively). Which will mean more grooming, which will mean more skiers. Even with limited grooming now, no one skis there because of the long lift.
While I personally like having that side of the mountain to myself, I can understand why resort management would want to have it "better utilized." And I wonder how far up they are planning on locating the top station. If it's high enough to catch the Poma oops I mean T bar, that would open up some fun lap from Spaulding to Far East.
