Doing some searching I didn't see a lot in the way of threads on P90X on here and all of them were like three years old. This is kind of parallel to Joan's recent thread on how skiers on average are more fit than the general populace. I'm more curious to see what results anyone else here has had in using P90X as a general fitness boost rather than for ski specific training. I thought with ski season both far ahead and behind me, and after living a healthier and more active life style here in Costa Rica for the last few months than I ever did in the States (I am in better shape and lighter than I've ever been), now may be a good time to start getting a better base fitness level in time for pre-season skiing training.
The one thing I wonder about is the actual program. I have talked to loads of people who have worked out with P90X, but I haven't really talked to anyone in much detail that has actually stuck to the prescribed regimen for a full 90 days. Has anyone here had experience with that? Particularly as someone who is fairly active and in decent shape, but not overly muscular to start nor planning to do anything over the top in terms of fitness (I'm not making muscle shakes from all these weird ingredients to chug every morning, I'm just going to eat normal with perhaps a bit more protein and a calorie boost if necessary) I am curious if anyone else has a similar background and seen results.
