What happens if the ski has a core shot ?

My ski has a rock scrape to the core .If it is filled with Ptex .What may be the result ?   Will it get water in the core and be ruined ?

P-tex doesn't stick to anything but p-tex very well so it will likely not hold in a gouge through to the core well enough.  There are various other adhesives that folks coat the core material with before melting the p-tex to repair a nasty core shot.  Perhaps some will recommend those adhesives and paste links to YouTube tutorials on how to apply them best.

I usually do my own P-tex repairs, but if it was a core shot I would go to a ski shop and specify Metal Grip repair.
