Ok, I hear that Nordica is coming out with a new Dobermann* boot. Apparently, it's more back to the original version with some tweaks?
Right now, there's almost no info on it.
Anyone know more than what's in this video?
From the video, we learn.
2 versions 130 and 150 flex.
Matte black plastic
"Basically the same lower shell". (as what the original?) Has lines on it for assistance in grinding out the inside.
More reinforcement in the bottom frame of lower shell than the boot years ago. (the lower shell is aka the "clog")
Toe/heel lugs need to be milled to DIN spec like a plug boot
The cuff height is higher than the original. (def a good thing)
It says EDT on it. Does it have the newer carbon EDT frame screwed in from the bottom? As opposed to the Aluminum EDT frame that gave people frost bite of the last "Doberman" EDT 130 boot. Or is it just a name plastered on it?
EDT = Efficient Dynamic Technology
(Nordica is ridiculous. They use "Dobermann" * for many products, like all the race skis, and they use "EDT" all over the place too. This makes the words, especially EDT, meaningless. Once upon a time...."Dobermann" meant a ski boot if it wasn't a dog.)
* : More absurdity as Nordica can't decide how to spell "Dobermann" or is it "Doberman"? On the website and the products, they use two 'n', on the video below, they use one 'n'. Perhaps this is just EDT applied to the name.
This was the "brand new" Doberman EDT 130 of 2010 if you've forgotten:
