Hello,

i would like to ask if anyon who was up on the summit of crystal mountain, washington, could give me a detailed description of what exactly you can see from there. i know that, of course, you get a good view over mt Rainier and that it is even possible to see as far as the canadian border on a clear day. But could you give me some information about which other notable mountain peaks or landmarks can be seen. In a video on youtube i could also see somethinh that looks like a river down in the valley. but i might be mistaken. the houses down in the valley (close to parking lot)- are they restaurants or hotels?

i require the information for a short story that i write.

thank you very much!!!

Mt. Adams, Mt. Baker, Mt. St. Helens, Glacier Peak, the Olympics... a bunch more. The river you see is the White River. The structures near the parking lot... a few private houses/cabins (the biggest cluster is 'Gold Hills' which is private), a handful of small hotels (w/bar... the Snorting Elk, and restaurant), the ski lodge/base area. There are plans for some new lodging, but not much. Crystal Mt Resort is on U.S. Forest Service land and is very limited in the amount and type of development they can do... which in the opinion of many is a good thing.
