Best boots for a season at Jackson

Hello, I'm thinking about taking some time off from work this coming winter in Jackson. Need to get new boots.

Have skied in racing boots for most of my life. Am wondering now if I should get a race boot customized a bit for free skiing, an all mountain boot like the LangeRX or more something more like the LangeXT. I need a boot that can range from GS turns on groomers when there has not been snow in a while to light orienteering when the snow is good. Would appreciate any and all thoughts on this topic.

Time off skiing---sounds good!!!

It would be hard to advise you on which model boot to purchase without seeing your feet---but if you are skiing Race plug boots that really fit great, the RX 130s would probably work for the kind of skiing you mentioned(more forgiving), the XTs will seem a little softer (loosy goosy) since the hike feature takes away from the rearward support a little.

Good luck
