Oh my.

Seems like another thread where he's got an issue he wants to air, but since the list will change as people add their reviews, it's aiming at a moving target. It's a low sample size ranking, so quite skewed. You don't even see those lists if you're using the mobile version of the site.

Can't believe Dan Marino fell all the way in the draft to the Dolphins. Guess we'll see how that turns out.

They're all flat, expensive and overcrowded with snowboarders. That's why heliski exclusively... popcorn.gif

With talent like that, he'll run out of fingers to put rings on by the time he retires.

JaMarcus Russell is eyeing a comeback this year. Definitely a guy to draft first round in your league.

Could someone please explain who the hell Duron Harmon is? Any Rutgers folks out there?

Oh, how I wish I could afford THAT!   There are many helliski options here in Northern Utah, and one superb, gem in Northeastern Nevada.

?? Not sure what you're asking. You say this as if you're familiar with every guy in the draft except Duron Harmon. Duron was a safety in a top 10 defense. As Belicheck has explained a number of times, he's a fan of former RU coach Greg Schiano and that's a big reason why he drafts a lot of RU guys. Also, his son was on the Rutgers team. And RU guys like McCourty, also a defensive secondary player, have worked out for him.

I was riffing off the previous few posts. Which sure beat the rest of the thread. And reflecting the sensibilities of not a few sports writers in Boston, since Harmon wasn't even listed in the various drafts previews, no tapes, etc. A valid question given that 1) it was meant to elicit responses just like yours, only maybe with more inside info, as in actually saw Harmon work at Rutgers, and  b) Coach B has this habit of picking one or more guys from alternative universes on the theory that if one makes it, the genius reputation will get burnished. Sure worked with Brady. Oh, sorry, I mean Pats will get great value and first rounders are overrated anyway. Just look at all the wonderful backs he's drafted as proof...wink.gif

Michigan is an "alternate universe"? Them's fightin' words.

I actually lived in Michigan for several years. biggrin.gif And have skied Mt. Brighton, which I bet you have not. But seriously, coming from California, it is an alternative universe. I had never even seen a firefly until then, let alone a cow up close...

Go Blue.

I realize you were riffing, but yours was the only post that was topical and not totally out there.

I have actually seen Harmon work at Rutgers. I'm an alum and watch pretty much every game, assuming I can get it from any combination of TV, Internet or On Demand. I watch the team, however, and fall well short of the fantasy dorks that devote their lives to breaking down tape, position by position. But I reckon there are other forums and sites better suited to that than Epic.

Boston sports journalists are just looking to grab onto anything that people will listen to. Last time I looked, journalists tend to be more useless than anybody in a. predicting the draft and b. predicting long term talent. But they sure are good at pissing, moaning and stirring $#it up.

I was going to bring up the reuniting gamble of making Peterson weed gaudian to the Honey Badger in AZ, but it seemed too relevant given the pretext of the original post.

Fire flies only live in the deep south of MI. smile.gif  Go Blue too.

You guys read Brad Leithauser's Hundreds of Fireflies? He's from Michigan, I think. Worth a look.

How long does it take to grow up into adult fireflies?

No idea.. I always thought it was a bit too cold for them, but things certainly have trended a bit warmer since the 70's, early 80's when I was a regular there, but it could have been because of orchard pesticides as well now that I think about it. Never remember seeing more than a very few in Ann Arbor either, but that too was the early to mid 80's.

Huh, we've got 'em by the score in my 'hood.  Guess I'll start considering myself lucky =)

No, we do. We call them lightning bugs though th_dunno-1[1].gif .

We don't have them here. I miss them.

Where did they go? I would think that with all the highly rated ski resorts up there that they would have stuck around.

Japan is on the right track to being #1 with policies like:

Well I read the OP followed the link and came back to make a comment. I was thinking of a way of wording it that was a little off the wall but not so far that the OP did not get my message.

But the above replies are well up on my weird sh*tometer so I will just make my point simply.

A poll that puts Alta as the top rated resort is flawed. Yup it is a nice resort, a nice LITTLE resort with SOME accommodation and SOME après ski.

Alta would not make the top 20 in Europe in fact it might not be in the top 50.
