Where can I ski this week?

Thread Starter

I somehow find myself with a week and a half of no classes before finals.

Is there anywhere in the continental U.S. that is still worth skiing at this point in the season?

If not, is there anywhere I can go get a week of skiing in on a somewhat reasonable budged?

Thanks!

and we are still skiing a whole lot of good stuff here at Bach. cheap (a matter of perspective) motels in town, or even camping at state parks. We are scheduled to run from 9 to 2 everyday from now till end of May. (we were running 8 to 1 but the snow was never getting corny on over half the hill. not hard to get in 25 to 35 thousand vertical even with the short hours. the website says 99% of mountain still open and they are right.

Loveland is also open for another week, and you can usually score cheap day passes from guys in the parking lot who have leftover 4-pack tickets.  If not, then tickets are $36 if you have a season pass from somewhere else.

Why is this featured on the front page with a photo of Okemo next to it?

Storm coming through CO mid week, temps will stay cool/cold behind it, and maybe a wetter (still snow) storm this weekend.

Looks like plenty of options! Snowbird was skiing great on Friday - deep spring slush mimicked powder. Plenty of great terrain open including Mineral Basin and Cirque. A bit more info here: http://www.epicski.com/t/120071/late-season-turns. Supposed to be warm this week, I believe, so CO might be a better bet.

Near as I can tell, those front page stories are just topical forum posts that someone matches a (semi) relevant photo to. The photos are not taken specifically from or for the post.

That explains why one of my pics is on the "Late-season turns?" thread.

Not that I mind...I was just wondering the same thing.

More thread related, A Basin is looking really good right now.  I'm heading up on Wednesday and staying til they close.  They have a really solid base and it is supposed to stay cold...maybe even snow!  With so much terrain open and cheap spring passes its hard to turn down.  Also being about 80 miles from Denver doesn't hurt either.

Whistler Blackcomb Spring seasons pass $299 til end of May

If you're willing to come to Canada, Blackcomb is open until May 27. Skiing is still pretty good, with sub-zero temps in the morning, corn around noon and slush in the afternoon (depending on how high up you're skiing). I believe spring passes are $230, and can be cheaper if you pick up an EDGE card at the same time. Whistler mountain itself is closed for the season.

Yea, AB should ski well for a while and the entire mountain is open. Supposed to snow on Wed and get down below 10 degrees Wed night...
