Kastle LX82 size?

Looking for a front-side groomer only ski.

Leaning towards Kastle LX82 but what length?

Here's my info...

5' 10"

155 lbs

53 years old

Don't know the ability rating system but I can ski anywhere but I slow down the steeper it gets.  Is that advanced?

That is, long carving turns on blues, short speed control turns on blacks.

I ski in SLC... mostly on the Cottonwood canyons side.

If there is more than 4" of new snow, then my S7's 178cm are perfect; and I'll mostly ski off the groomers.

But when there is no new snow, the S7's don't cut it (pun intended); and with no new snow, I prefer to ski groomers all day.

I'll be leaving my Salomon Shoguns 173cm; my attempt at a one ski for everything.

I like the LX's because they are light and carve great.

So...

164 or 172?

172 for certain. My wife skis the 164 and she is 5'7" /140.

why not just log onto to the kastle site and get it from them directly?

...click on product finder and based on various data

eg, weight, height, ability level, finesse vs power skier, fitness level (etc)

then they'll suggest the length for you

I tried the Kastle Web site app... didn't find it to be very useful... a chart would be better.

Help from Bears would be great.

You are 178 cm tall. The LX82 is not overly stiff, you'll do fine at your weight and skill level. 172cm is right.

I am 6'2" 170 lbs, level 7. I skied the 172 last season and moved up to the 180 this season. I didn't feel anything material in stiffness, but the 180 was way better for me in variable snow and a better top end.

The point of this model over the MX is the softer ski - don't ski it short, you will find the limits too soon.
