looking for ski advice for western vacations

Hello all I would like to buy some skis over the summer to make life easier on western trips. I currently ski k2 xplorer in 177 and quite like them.I am on the wrong side of 50, 5'10 and trying to stay under 200 lbs. I want something that is easy forgiving in bowls trees and I would sacrifice some groomer performance to get that. I am not a very fast skier  but enjoy challenging terrain. The xplorer is the widest ski I have tried and for my skiing they are stable and grip adequately on eastern hardpack the only area I find them lacking is in short radius. I was considering the s3 in 186 but would appreciate any other suggestions. Basically undemanding fatigue reducing for a 15 day per year skiier. Thanks

Welcome to Epicski!  Have you demo'd any skis lately?  Where are you likely to go out west next?
