What's the deal with the size of goggles exploding lately?  I mean ski goggles are suddenly HUGE in size!  Skiers are starting to look like Buzz Lightyear!

People like to have a decent field of view.

I guess for some they are fashion, but honestly, I think all goggles look moderately to severely stupid on me no matter which ones I choose. I feel awkward wearing any type at all, they just bug me.

I wear some of the biggest buzz light years you can find because when I wear smaller ones I get nauseous. I have some crazy extraordinary peripheral ability that when I wear, what is consider normal size by your standards, goggles it just makes me boxed in which makes me sick and disoriented. I have gotten use to mine, and they are doable, where "normal" sized ones never felt right.

^^^Those were coolest to wear backwards!  I have average cheap goggles, UV protection, fog free with cloth, and no blind spots or obstructions.  When it is warm and dry, I prefer sun glasses.  Just thinking at the rate of evolution were are headed for visors from the helmet to the bottom of the nose pretty soon.
