Sadly, I find myself talking less and less on the chairlift
today to other people. I ski solo, with a wife thats doing her
own thing somewhere on the mountain.
It seems more and more people are listening to there music,
not willing to engage in an interesting talk, or mute.
I am skiing mainly in California, and this may vary from region
to region. I think Canadians, and more laid back types are easier
to talk to. People are pretty cool in nice resort towns like Sun Valley
Snowboarders, and the younger generation seem to be the worst
at talking. I am 53 so I guess there is a big generation gap.
In this age of tweets, and texts have we lost the art of a interesting
5 minute conversation? More people are physically I try to take the initiative in conversation, and ask questions.
I try to seem interested.
Conversation is two way communication. If I or you are doing all the talking
its more of a lecture.
