Hello! This is my first post in the Epic Ski forums and I'm glad to be a part of the community!
I live in southern CA and am 20 years old. I am at a community college, but looking to transfer in the Fall of 2013. I make frequent trips to Mammoth Mountain, Big Bear, and Whistler/Blackcomb. I love skiing until the death of me so I'm deciding to head to school where I will be able to do the most consistent, quality skiing, (and nightlife!). Thats were I need you're guys help!
I have applied so far to the University of Colorado @ Boulder, Montana State, and Western Washington University.
University of Colorado @ Boulder: About 10 resorts within a 3 hour range. good nightlife. but the best resorts are so far away. Im not sure if i want to be making those long drives every weekend.
Montana State University(Bozeman): Bridger Bowl, and Big Sky are both within an hour... does it get better that that!? Well I've never skied those mountains so I couldn't tell you... but would love to hear from somebody that knows about these mountains, and the area!
Western Washington University(Bellingham): Mt Baker is a hour away with the most annual snowfall in the world i would love to be able to go there and learn all about back country skiing. Whistler is about 2 hours away. If i go to WWU i have a friend that goes to UBC with a place at Whistler so i would be able to head up there any time.
To me it seems like Western Washington University would be the best set up. Mt. Baker is close. VANCOUVER is close, and Whistler is semi-close. It has good nightlife too.
I would love to hear any tips or suggestions to regarding the best school for great skiing, social life, and post skiing activities!
