I didn't get the camera to take the pictures of the avalanche debris. On Saturday morning my buddy watched someone jump off a rock in Lulu's and land it. Then the jumper let it run out and he realized that he couldn't stop before the debris. He tried to ski over it and eventually tumbled. Tib-fib fracture. He was lucky he flew out of the debris field before he landed. Later in the day there were yellow signs all around the debris.
The skiing turned out to be pretty nice Saturday. The upper mountain was wintery with a lot of windblown and plenty of soft pockets. It was so good I skied all day again. I even went for more on Sunday, it was just that much fun. The lower mountain never got to corn stage, so I still haven't skied any spring conditions. Maybe at A-Basin it'll happen.
It snowed another 4 - 5 inches overnight and during the day today. Maybe they'll have a third closing weekend!
I'm curious how crowded it was at Breck. Long lift lines on Imperial and the T-bar? Just collecting data for proper decision making the next time the season is extended. Thanks!
