After this article I think it's safe to call Jamie the anti Klaus Obermeyer.  That guy is clearly losing his grip.

Yep, drop some acid make some predictions, awesome. None of them have any more idea what is going to happen in the future anymore then I do, the shocking part is that Outside Magazine sees fit to publish it. Opps, sorry I guess I don't find the Outside Magazine part that shocking.

Did you think Jiminy Peak saw an increase because people liked the idea of them generating there own wind power?

Most ski areas seem to tout using sustainable energy, making it part of their advertising campaing.

Using wind power is cool. But as someone who works in the wind industry, I don't necessarily like the idea of erecting an industrial turbine in a snowy/icy area where there is a lot of pedestrian traffic. Icing can be an issue, and as well as the throwing of said ice.

What about those enclosed turbines?  Although, I suppose in that case there could be issues with icing preventing the rotation of the blades.  Solar seems more likely to be utilized at resorts IMO, as soon as the cell technology reaches a tipping point of efficiency.
