Boxes and rails effect on edges and bases?

I ask because my fearless daughter wanted me to slide some of the above eek.gif but I said no way because my Line Prophet 98s are brand new. She was all over them with her rentals. Does sliding them screw up ones skis?

A box not as much. you have more surface area to distribute the pressure on the ski. If you're 50-50ing a rail you will eventually get edge cracks. I have a dedicated park ski for the big rail days and they are beat to crap. I have taken my all mountain skis and hit many boxes without worries. Probably wouldn't go mash rails all day on them. That being said skis are a tool to be used. I enjoy them not just baby them. Skis can be fixed (most if the time) memories cannot.
