Roger Ebert died today. Better known for other things, he also had an association with Russ Meyer, and wrote the screenplay for this very unique film from the end of the swinging sixties. I had the good fortune to see a screening of it, along with "Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!", at a Russ Meyer tribute at a film festival 20 or so years ago. Hard to find now, but quite worthwhile. Here's a sampling...

Brilliant writer and conversationalist. In the end he was like a brain with a keyboard. His continued output and influence as a film critic and writer despite severe health challenges in later years was an amazing example of courage, optimism, and the value of all human life.
