K2 Amp Bolts

Thread Starter

Hi All,

I'm looking for a decent but not too expensive high speed carver and I've kind of settled on this because it seems pretty good value in the end of season sale. Caught in two minds on the length though.

I'm 33, 6'1, bout 190lbs and will mostly be using this in and around banff, lake louise etc. I'd say i was probably an 8 out of 10, and when i am on the piste I do like high speed medium to long radius turns. split between the 179 and 186. Any advice would be gratefully recieved thanks.

My question would be did you demo the Bolt? I would recommend taking it for a ride before making a buying decision. I demoed the Bolt last season and found I didn't really warm up to it's particular set of attributes. I would recommend the Elan Waveflex 14 as a great carving ski, at both lower and higher speeds. The Waveflex 14 is a great ski and gets good reviews, it's certainly worth a look before making a decision. I'm not sure, but I believe Elan may be dropping the "Waveflex" designation in favor of their new "Amphibio" technology. I find it hard to keep up with the latest trends in ski design, but I do know Elan makes some great skis that don't seem to get the same market exposure as offerings from the big name ski manufacturers.
