So I was skiing Loveland the other day on my summit county trip.  Going through some untracked powder, not super deep.  All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a bird shoots up from under the snow in front of me, hits me in the chest, and flies away.  Weird?  Anyway, I happened to have my GoPro on my pole and caught this:




Don't know why the color isn't coming through, but you get the gist.

I had a similar experience several weeks ago at Breck.  I was skiing Horseshoe Bowl in untracked powder and flushed 8 ptarmagin!  They were headed in every direction.  Evidently, they like to burrow in fresh snow.  Still, it was my first experience like that in my skiing history.  Great that you got a shot of it!
