Hi,
I'm new to the site and have already found it very valuable. Has anyone tried the new 03/04 Atomic SuperCross SX9's? Any input would be appreciated.

I haven't skied on those yet.

I have spoken to alot of people who have demoed it and they loved it.

It has most of the stability of the Supercross SX 11 but has more feeling.

I skied on the 11s and I thought they were a tank and you didn't really get a feel for the snow.

I may demo the 9s this weekend.

The blue graphic is much better than the green.

Scalce,
You mentioned that you might demo the sx9's next week. Where are you going to demo them? I'll take a ride up and try them out myself. I know of a couple of ski shops that are carrying them but are not doing demos until next year i.e. Ski fanatics in Campton. I'm trying to figure out where they fit in Atomics lineup. They have a very similar sidecut to the Carve 9.18. I don't know if it's just a beefed up carver or a cross between a gx and a sl ski.

Waterville Valley has quite a plentiful selection of atomics to demo. You might try going/calling there to see if they have them. I know last year they had a large selection of atomic demo race skis so they may have them again this year.

Thanks for the info. I called Waterville but no sx:9's. They do demo the sx:11 so I'll give that a try but I know that really won't be a good comparison. I think I'll try the t50 5* and 4* while I'm at it.

Check out Ski Shop North and West.

Ski Shop

I may just purchase the R 20s this week so I may not demo the SX9s now.

It is $40 for the first day and it goes towards your purchase.

Ask for John at Ski Shop North and Teddy at Ski Shop West.

Tell them that John Scalcione told you about them.

Maybe they will work on the price if you bought them there.

Have fun

Gotta love this site! Thanks John. I called Ski Shop West and I'm going to demo a pair by the end of the week.
Thanks again.

I had the opportunity to demo the new Atomic sx9 Supercross in a 170 yesterday at Wachusett Mountain. I am a level 7-8 skier - 5'9 - 180lb - been skiing 17 years. I loved these skis. They are lively, fun and still have enough edge hold to deal with our typical New England conditions. The snow conditions were groomed packed powder. These skis do like to turn in short and medium carved turns. They go on edge effortlessly. They are wondorous in the bumps and I am not a good bump skier. I took two runs on the stiffer sx11 in December. Personally, the 9 is a more versatile livelier fun ski. The 11 holds the edge better, but takes more effort to move around the mountain. I will post a full review when I find the time.
