I brought my skis to Fanatyk Co in Whistler for a tune. Slalom race skis, Dynastar Omeglass WC SL in 165. I asked for a 0.75 base angle and 3 degree side edge angle. When I went to pick them up, the shop they outsource to (Spicy) crossed out my edge angle and did it to 1.5 degrees instead. The dude at the counter couldn't give me a clear reason why they would do that - he didn't seem to know anything about tuning himself. He did tell me if I didn't like how they skied I could take them back.
There should be lots of edge left on the ski since I've only had them tuned once before. Was my request for a 3 degree edge crazy? (I thought this was pretty normal for a race ski)
Also I notice some rust spots still on the base edge. They weren't crazy rusted when I brought them in (though these skis do rust easily). Should these have come off when I had them tuned?
