Here is our new video from this year: http://youtu.be/Gc9x1uFlt5s
Part of the reason I like making these videos is because I have not been happy with the way normal resort skiing has become less popular since the mid-nineties due to the increasing of popularity of snowboarding and skiing of terrain parks etc... I like putting these things online to try to make skiing look cool to kids that might be surfing the internet and thinking about getting into some type of skiing. In the early nineties, most people starting skiing got into regular skiing... I wish it was still that way. Nowadays kids get into snowboarding and the terrain park etc...
My question isn't a typical MA question... I do not have a racing backrgound, so I would like to hear from people who do. What I would like to understand is the difference between my way of skiing and a racer's. I may not want to change anything. I just want to have the understanding necessary to experiment with race techniques because I don't currently have knowledge of them. As a side-note, if you use race terminology that I might not know, give me a definition too. I don't have any shots of groomed skiing in this video, but still there are a lot of non-mogul shots, many of which are not in powder at all. I know that a lot of posters here have a really keen eye, so I hope there is still content that can be compared to race technique.
I am not very interested in any other type of MA.
