Look, if you don't want to take my word for it, I don't care. In fact the fewer people that buy the ski only gives me an advantage and draws more looks from wannabees. So don't buy a pair ok? And, ohh those ugly graphics. Buy those pretty K2's with the humps on em. When you hear hooting and laughing coming from the trees and ripping down the steeps, it'll be ole Lars on his B 2's. Ok?
For a variety of reasons, we all seem to take someone else's criticism of our choice of equipment (skis, cars, significant others, whatever) as a personal attack.
I learned a long (very long) time ago that my choice in skis was sometimes absolutely ridiculed by other skiers. Oddly enough, it's also very easy to find some great skiers on those same skis.
All that matters is that you had fun on those B2's. If they work well for the way you ski and the stuff you ski, who cares what anyone else thinks?
I'm glad you had such a great time in Steamboat and sorry to hear about your son. Having broken a leg there many years ago, I feel for him.
BTW - the first time I saw a pair of B2's (only about a week ago), I thought they looked great. Significantly better than my current-issue XX's.
