Until you hurt yourself and some else has to spend time and money taking care of you.
Until you hurt someone else and they have to spend time and money taking care of themselves.
All very likely with alcohol impairment and an inherently risky recreational activity in crowds.
Very likely!? I don't think we're talking about skiing totally wasted here, just a few beers, if it was 'very likely' surely it would happen more often, most collisions I've seen have been out of control beginners, not 'drunks'.
The EpicSki "culture" seems to be lets drink and ski. Not sure if that's old school or new school or needs schooling.
On smoking pot and skiing, no evidence that pot has the documented impairment issues of alcohol. You can see the science of it in the impairment tests for drivers. Easy to detech alcohol impairment but impossible to detect pot impairment. Part of the reason the pot laws never made any sense as alcohol is a dangerous, addictive drug with huge costs to economy and society yet alcohol is legal and pot criminalized.
The "older culture" of EpicSki seems more of the alcohol as drug of choice and drinking and skiing is OK while you see some OMG threads on the dangers of pot on the slopes.
By 'cultural' I mean the differences between the US and Europe (where this survey was taken and where I'm from). I agree with you about weed, not about alcohol.
