if the shell is big then it is limited as to what can be done as you need to over tighten the clips to hold your foot

do you have a custom insole? the shell can be stretched/ground at the point of pressure, or the liner adjusted, but if it is big, it is never that successful

the foot doesn't have to hit the shell for it to be a problem.. it depends on how much space there is compared to how much padding there is in the liner

is the foot supported?, if not it needs to be to prevent it rolling into the side of the boot when you ski.... material can be removed from the liner, the shell can be stretched or ground out

the only way this will happen is if you get the boot to a boot fitter, (unless of course you have the tools to work on the boot) we can't tell you exactly where the material needs to be removed from as we cannot see your foot in the boot over the internet.

there is a load of nerve and vascular around that lateral ankle, it can cause problems but most of the time the problems can resolved by a boot fitter
