The one year I control my irrational dislike of Duke and don't pick them to get bounced in the first week.

Well I live less than a mile from the Dook campus and less than two miles from Cameron Arena where they play, married to a UNC Tarheel alum.  There are plenty of rational reasons to hate Dook, first of all they are usually VERY good.  There are occasionally some jerky people playing for them.  I will say that Coach K is truly a class act and great all around guy from what I know about him and his involvement with the local community here.  I wish he'd leave Dook and coach somewhere I could better appreciate him hahahaha..

GO Sooners (Thanks for the Spangler transfer Gonzaga!)
Go Longhorns
Go Tarheels (for the wife)
Go North Carolina Central cause that would be a great story if they managed the impossible.

@nolo

Go Harvard!

So much for Spangs and the Sooners, Charles, along with Smart and the Pokes. Let the Gonzaga bulldogs run!

^^^Good to see you, nolo =)

So, I was only half watching and he was only on the screen for a moment but it looked like the color commentator for the Louisville/St. Louis game had a goggle tan.  Can anyone confirm?

Oh, and the Wolverines are playing pretty well, eh?

Go Spartans!

Ya, I didn't expect the shorthorns to beat Michigan.  Mrs crgildart's Tarheels are still alive though :-)

Well Syracuse busted my bracket bad.

Although it is pretty funny to see the way he ranted about how tough the ACC is this year and then have almost all their teams eliminated on the first weekend.

Well half my final four and one of my runner up pick are out already. I had Syracuse losing in the finals and Villanova in final four.

Syracuse's best player got injured mid season.  That's why they fell in to mediocrity within the ACC from being undefeated first half of the season.

I did several (5) online brackets, but the first one I did based on who I believed will win (instead of whom I would want to win) still has the final four alive.

BoomerSooner

Kansas Vs Michigan St

Arizona Vs Wichita St

I have Arizona winning..

The ones based on teams I would like to win are pretty devastated hahahahaha..

Bump!  Getting near the end here and a shout out to @nolo and her Zags are still alive as of the moment..

Here's my main bracket..  Calling my shot tonight, Kentucky goes down to Notre Dame???

Mrscrgildart was as high as 16th in that bracket challenge before this morning hahaha.  She's still probably going to beat me after my Cinderella David loses to Goliath.  But, if they upset I'll be looking good hahahaha.

Update... my bracket now...

Hi Charles, sorry about your bracket. Chalk talks this year, with the exception of Nova.

My Zags did well, but Duke brought the defense the last five minutes and we folded. I hope we have a Duke-Kentucky final just to redeem the team.

I did do one other bracket, and it has Kentucky and Wisconsin in the final four with Kentucky winning.  The other side is toast though hahaha..

Hey, nolo - I had GU losing to Duke but have Duke winning out and beating KY in the final. That would add some redemption to the Zag loss, not to mention I win my pool (only one of top three to pick Duke..) Hope all's well.

I'm doing very well, thanks, Goldmember. I am not sad at the outcome, and can't wait for next year! (Famous last words of the Zags fan.)

- A little thread-drift here but I just heard today that Wiltjer and Karnowski are both considering foregoing their senior years and entering the draft this spring. That will leave a mark

Bumping this since the only other basketball thread was @bumpfreaq's Pistons thread from years ago.

Cavs?  Can they keep winning without Kyrie Irving?

Don't feel too bad, almost everyone had the Harvard game wrong (I actually had that one right but didn't see the Pitt loss coming).  This is another year where the #1 seeds may not make it all the way, since one bad shooting night could easily bounce any team out of the tourney.  The team that can put together 5 wins gets the trophy, and this year there are probably 15-18 teams capable of doing that.  The others (like Big Sky champ Montana that was completely embarrassed by Syracuse) are gone, or will be gone soon enough.  The Big East is blowing up with many or the original teams going elsewhere, and I'm thinking the teams will go out with a bang with two reaching the Final Four.  Father Jenkins of Notre Dame is the reason the Big East is breaking up, after he tried to negatively influence a $billion ESPN deal while  the Irish football remained independent.   Well, the great rivalries are now a thing of the past.  Now Syracuse, Pitt, Notre Dame (surprise, surprise) and likely Louisville will play basketball as members of the ACC where they will give Duke needed competition, because all of the new teams are tough..  It won't be the same.  The refs call too many fouls in the ACC. The Big East, except for Butler, is now comprised of all Catholic schools.  To me, that isn't a match "made in Heaven."

Bumping.....into the new season!

Unfortunately quant2325....economics and health discussions don't have much pull when it comes to whether it's a block or a charge....:rotflmao:
