I'm headed to Beaver Creek next weekend for my first Colorado ski trip ever. Any locals or frequenters have any good advice on the mountain for a first timer? I'm gathering that it's quite the cushy resort, which is nice, but where should I head on the mountain for the best spring skiing?

I'm also considering taking a lesson while I'm there to work on technique (which I've never done) and general ability (bumps or trees perhaps?). As an east coast skier who hasn't taken a lesson since I was about 8 I figure it can't hurt to make use of what I'm sure is a good training program - any particular higher-level instructors I should request?

And last, I'm hoping to demo some good, versatile all-mountain skis while I'm there, too. I need something to fill the large gap between my Head SuperShape Magnums and my Volkl Gotamas, and I'm hoping to try before I buy. Is there a good shop in town with a demo fleet that could suit my fancy? Obviously demo skis are starting to sell off, but I figure it's worth a try.

Thanks in advance for any advice!
