Sugar Bowl offering big discount for the rest of the season

As the Sugar Bowl ambassador on EpicSki, I just wanted to let Tahoe skiers know that Sugar Bowl just announced that "Core Daily" passholders get up to $30 off the regular ticket prices for the rest of the season. For those of you not familiar with Sugar Bowl's loyalty program, you can buy a "Core Daily" pass for $19 anytime during the season and it normally gets you a discount of $15 off the regular ticket price. You can also attach your credit card to it so that you can use it like a season pass -- you don't have to purchase a paper ticket each day you ski but rather your card gets charged when the lifties scan your Core Daily pass. Under normal circumstances it pays for itself after two days of skiing, but for the rest of the season it pays for itself in one day. It is a popular program for people who can't commit to enough days to purchase a season pass but probably will go to Sugar Bowl a few times during the year.

Here is a paragraph from their official announcement:

"Starting March 16, CORE Daily Pass members can purchase a $50 adult lift ticket, $40 young adult and senior tickets, and $10 tickets for children from ages 6-12 and super seniors 70 and older."

Does this combine with free rental and free two hour lesson:

"Purchase an all-mountain lift, ages 13-69, ticket on a General Admission day and get standard rentals for the day and a 2-hour group lesson at any level – at no additional cost. Whether you're a first-timer or a seasoned pro, a lesson with one of our professional instructors at the Mountain Sports Learning Center will improve your skiing and riding.

Here's the deal:

  • Daily from opening day through Dec. 21, 2012

  • Monday-Friday from January 7, 2013 through March 17, 2013 excluding January 21 and February 18-22, 2013

  • Daily from Mar. 18 through closing day

  • Ages 13-69 with qualifying ticket (special Bear and Cub Tracks packages available for ages 4-12 on General Admission days)

Yes, for the 13-69 age group there are free lessons and free rentals included. It is quite a good deal, especially since we are supposed to get winter back next week.
