Hi gang. This thread is to recruit and organize the local people who will volunteer to guide groups at Bridger Bowl, Moonlight Basin, and Big Sky. I realize that this topic is discussed in other threads and forums as well, but wanted to consolidate here.

We could use help the following days:

Day 0  Sunday, Bridger Bowl

Day 1  Monday, Bridger Bowl

Day 2  Tuesday, Big Sky

Day 3  Wednesday, Moonlight Basin

Day 4  Thursday, Big Sky

Day 5  Friday, Big Sky

Thanks!

Rio has volunteered to meet the group at 9:30 at the Powder Park Quad (to the right) on Sunday.

Nolo,

With 3 days at Big Sky, I think you can have group(s) self-guide one (or more) of the days. Friday would obviously be the best, but I think any day would work.

I could do Big Sky Thursday and/or Friday for intermediates/advanced.  I am by no means a local but have skied the area many times.

I would envision starting on the Southern Comfort greens, then intermediate Big Horn/Elk Park Ridge, back down Andesite to Swiftcurrent for Calamity, then bowl, and possibly a quick side trip to Iron Horse which shares a few runs with Moonlight.  And, of course, the tram if conditions are good - which may mean skipping other areas. My usual goal is "do the tram if open and visibility is decent" as you never know if other days will have wind (so not running) or clouds for lousy visibility.  That leaves Challenger, Shedhorn and Dakota as "nice to do if decent snow" options for the more adventerous.

So what happens if it's a powder day???  No friends on powder days...right?  Unless of course we are all like-minded. smile.gif

I agree, John. We need guides for March 26 at Big Sky. I am available as is Phil and I hope Rio will be game to lead the astray bunch. Looks like RicB is going o be around Monday (Bridger) and W-F at Moonlight and Big Sky.

Maybe "guides" is too official sounding a word. If you are somewhat local to the mountain and wouldn't mind distributing yourselves about the different groups, that would be great!

Fixed it for you. smile.gif

After lunch on Big Sky days, I'll be happy to ski with anyone who'd rather stay on groomers or in the glades on Andesite.  Don't want to over do it since this ski vacation last for two weeks.

I will meet with the group on the 26th (Tuesday) in the morning. (Have to teach from 12:15 on.) And I should be able to do either the 28th or the 29th at least for a few hours.

Looking forward to seeing all of you!

Ursula
