ZipFit liners - laces or no laces?

Thread Starter

Just come back from a trip where I tried out my new ZipFit Grand Prix boot liners. After a couple of days of considerable pain, they got more and more comfortable over the course of the week until on the last couple of days was getting real comfort combined with great control, the dream combination.

I used them with the laces taken out, though, as early in the week they just seemed like one extra problem. Just wondering about you other ZipFit users out there - do you use the laces, and if so, what advantages do they give you (and where do you tuck the lace ends)?

Yes, I use the laces. I fold them and tuck them under the velcro straps of the ZipFits themselves. The lock fastener sits under the velcro strap. I let the laces stick up a bit, then fold them down and up again, lay them across the strap and then tighten the strap back over the laces. Works for me.

The laces add to the snugness of the fit, help keep my heels down, and make it really easy to slip the liners out of the shells in the lodge or at the end of the day. Which is easier than fighting the heel clinchers to get my feet out of the liners when they're still in my boots.

I use the laces. Things get caught otherwise by the shell flaps when I try to buckle plus I always put the liner on my foot before I put the boot on.
I just rout the laces through the loop attached to the tongue, from there I wind it a couple of times around the loop string in the back. That's it.
