Can bindings be adjusted or do I need a remount?

Thinking of purchasing some skis to add to the quiver.  Marker Griffons mounted for 27.5 boots.  Can I adjust to 28.5 without a remount?  Thanks in advance.

Should not be a problem to simply adjust, but it depends on a few things. Iif it was a short shell (like FullTilt) and you have a shell that runs long (like the Tecnica Cochise series) it could be a problem. Most likely you are fine, though.

I had a mount where the tech that installed the binding didn't check to see if the forward adjustment was in the middle of its range before drilling. The result was when I went down a boot size for a more performance fit, I had to remount.

So, usually it will work, but not always. A remount is pretty cheap in the overall scheme of things, and if the skis in question have been drilled so many times where that is an actual concern, it should be reflected in the price.

The jig is set up for the mid range of the adjustment, the tech shouldn't have needed to make any other compensations other than if you told him/her that you might be going to another boot.

This season, I went down a boot size and was able to do a simple heel adjustment on the Marker Griffon series using a screwdriver and the worm gearing on the rear binding. It was a close, but, it worked. There is a lot of adjustment room, give it a try. It seems there is more room to go backward on the worm gear, that should work in your favor.
