Hi, I will try and make this short. I got back into skiing after a long absence. This is my third enthusiastic year back on the slopes and it has been a good year for me.
Took lessons and I ski the groomers comfortably including groomed black diamonds. Starting to ski off piste which is great fun and expanding my skills into mogul skiing too.
I have been skiing on full camber Volkyl Estrellas this season and I love them... that is until today.
Here comes the stupid question. I have skied about 25 times on these skis this season. without any problems on all types of snow (except powder). My husband took them to get waxed with an edge tune. Went out today and it was a total disaster. Snow was pretty good (Alpine Meadows for you locals) but my skis were all over the place. I couldn't catch an edge. They were chattery going all wonky and it was as if I never skied before. I LOVE this sport and being in the mountains and I am so upset. Has anybody had this problem? Is my technique less than what I thought and will I just have to adapt to it and become more aggressive in terms of edging. They were also unstable on the catwalks just going straight. I am so sad; worst ski day of my life.
