Ski binding question marker comp 14 vs Salomon STH driver

I have read about the Marker' binding pre-release problem, do you think they have addressed that in 2012. The sale told me that the marker has all metal construction which would last forever?

Another option is Rossi Axial 2 100, which is the cheapest of the bunch saving of $70

i m 6' 190b, ski some black, i want a safe durable binding that will fit me in a long run , and the ski its for is the Salomon BBR 8.9(a lot of hate too,  but I really liked it).

They are both the same price, which one should I choose?

Besides the past Marker concerns, the Comp14 has been out of production for a number of years plus it is not the all metal goodness of the 16 or 18. move on. The Axial2 100 is only a 10 din binding, not for your 6' 190lb frame. That leaves the Sth Driver. This binding in either a 12 or 14 is the same binding other than spring, best option here.

THx, how about the Marker Comp 16? I think its like $15 more. will it be at least as good as STH 12 Driver?

The 16 is a fine binding. The tough part will be finding a wide brake for it and it will be about $50.00 if you do.

Get the Salomon STH Driver. They're the 2nd best alpine binding on the market, in my opinion. behind Rossignol FKS.

I own axials and sth, I like the STH driver a lot more.

so STH 12 Driver > Comp 16?

There is a chance your DIN setting won't be high enough for the Comp 16 anyway, get the STH 12 and be happy. You don't need bindings that will last for ever, for ever is only from now till your next ski purchase in the ski world.

sth 16 > marker 16. If you dont NEED the 16 then dont get it.
