Fly into Salt Lake and ski the same day

We're flying to Salt Lake on 3/17, arriving at 9:00 am.  As soon as we can gather our bags/skis and get to the rental car, we're heading to the mountains to ski the rest of the day.  According to Google Maps, its 50 minutes from the SLC airport to the Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons.  I've heard on this forum that Solitude is less crowded on the weekends, so we may head there.  Question:  is there someplace at the base lodge to change from our 'street clothes' to 'ski clothes'?  Thanks.

The Salt Lake City Shuffle.  I've done it many times, always on my last day of skiing and usually on my way in.  I recommend stopping in the corner of a big parking lot before you get to the mtns.  Likely the lot will be dry with no snow to get things wet.  If coming or going form the Cottonwoods I usually stop at the bus parking lot down from the BCC.  (but anyplace will do).  A parking lot is much preferable to dragging your stuff a couple hundred yards across the resort parking lot into a lodge basement and likely end up changing in a small, yucky bathroom.  Throw the ski/boot bags on the ground, grab your ski clothes, change in the car, then throw the leftover mess into the car and deal with it after your day of skiing.  Head up the hill and you are ready to ski.  You should be on the lift by 11:30 if you arrive at 9.  Send the driver to get the rental car while the rest of the party grabs the luggage/gear and have him exit the airport and come back in and meet you on the medium.

Yep.  Done that many of times in SLC.  I even do it in DEN sometimes, catch the morning flight and can easily get skiing in the afternoon at A-Basin or Keystone.

Agree with the method mentioned above, best bet is to car change down in SLC in the back of a big-box parking lot of something.

If you really need a bathroom, you could always find a hotel and run in there to use a bathroom and/or parking lot change, obviously being discrete.  Find an exit with a Marriott or Hilton or something of the likes.

I have also changed in the bathroom of a restaurant or fast food place many times. I have also changed in Solitude's bathroom. The one to the left at Moonbeam. The other one is too small.
