Do moguls move up or down a hill over time, or do they stay put?  The article below from Science Daily has the answer to the question none of us ever cared enough about to ask:

Little known fact: moguls have feet at night after the groomers retire for the evening.  They switch places and come to a rest in nearly the same spot, so it's magically all three!

We used to tell little kids on chairlifts that moguls were kids that got run over because they couldn't stay out of the way of bigger people..

That's just awful.

One way of thinking about them while skiing them is that they're on a conveyor belt moving toward you.
