April 1 until close, lodging at Sun Valley Lodge or Inn, starting at 79.50 ppdo including lodging and lift tickets.

Same deal, now until April 1, starting at 139.50 ppdo.

Tickets only will be $66 starting April 1.

Details here.

Closing date has not been announced. Best guess mid-April. In last ten years, earliest has been April 9 and latest April 24.

That's a good deal for such a nice place.  Wish I could come, it's been way too long since I've been in the Wood River Valley.

How'd you end up in the WRV?

If SV gets a real dump I'll be there. Fingers crossed. Ha, I probably will have some furlough days to use and what better way to use them.

I saw this post last night as my husband was doing repair on our skis from our SV trip a few weeks ago--we came at the end of the looooong dry spell, right before you got some snow, and it did a real number on our skis.

When I retired in Wichita, KS in 2002 and wanted to move to the mountains, my two top areas, based on a number of vacation visits, were Sun Valley and Aspen, and I couldn't afford Aspen. Property prices in Hailey were comparable, if not a bit lower, than Glenwood Springs, which is 40 miles down the road from Aspen.

It is supposed to snow over the next three days, but doesn't sound like a real dump. One can always hope.

I know what you mean about the skis. I just dropped mine off at the shop for some major repair.

I think you ended up in a nice place.  I spent three weeks in SV in 1976 during the Freestyle era and It changed this gate rat's perspective.  Then I got hooked up with a bunch of kids from Boise in college and we spent a lot of time in the Sawtooths, but mostly in the summer.  I can see why you love it.

I was an engineer for Cessna Aircraft. I liked the job (mostly) and Wichita is a nice enough medium size city, but the problem was, it was in the middle of Kansas. It could have been worse, at least Kansas is next door to Colorado.

I kind of figured.  Hopefully they gave you a nice 180 to enjoy all those grass strips in ID!

They're reporting 8" new, which sounds awfully nice. I think that's enough to count as that dump I was looking for. But shoot, I am heading to Whistler for the weekend in a couple hours.
