Stratton?

Bromley?

Mount Snow?

which one can I get the best deal on a ticket?

Mount Snow would have a lot more trails to choose from...

Bromley is smaller, but away from the sun...

Stratton.... trying to remember what it was like the last time I was there...

any other ideas?

I'll be returning from a business trip on Friday... and drive up to Albany that night.....and staying downtown near Pump Station Brewery.

Whatcha lookin for?

I will always throw out the "You should really try Magic." It's skiing great right now and (if weather.com is correct) should hold up until next weekend. But Magic "charm" includes: hopping over stumps, rock jumping, hockey-stop to avoid tree, to high speed narrow run out...sometimes all in about 100'. They have groomed stuff, but it is somewhat limited. As far as amenties: you can get food (although the food is quite tasty) there...and drinks there...and that's about it. You are there to ski (board) right?

I went to Stratton for the first time two weeks ago...and I HATED it, it is pretty much the polar opposite of the Magic. The base area is impeccable...the runs are groomed to perfection. Much of the area the Magic folks would consider "charming" is roped off...and they'd prolly pull your ticket for ducking. If you are wanting some TOP speed groomer cruising followed by a great meal and a massage, I imagine that Stratton is quite nice...it's just not my thing.

Bromley is somewhere between the two (but I'd go to Bromley long before I'll ever go to Stratton again). I've never been to Mt. Snow, so I can't say. (Note: Bromley is south facing and in the sun..they even have a Sun in their logo).

Another option, if you want the amenities of Stratton, but a better mountain (IMO), you could go to Okemo.

okemo is one of the options I was talking to one of my coworkers... but... it's more central VT... but still keeping options open

last time I was in Stratton was a few years ago when Intrawest owned Mountain Creek and my season pass gave me nice discounts to other Intrawest resorts

If you're at Bromley, it's, literally, no more than 35min to Okemo (And the drive is nice)...and appx 15min to Magic.

Bromley, facing south, may not have such good snow.  If you're staying downtown, I'd say its a choice of Mt. Snow or Gore.  Stratton takes a bit longer from Albany

Actually, I am staying downtown... right by Pump Station... at the Hampton Inn.

Gore is a hike also...if I was going Gore... I would be staying in Indian Lake...

I'm also looking to head up to VT on 16-17th but starting to worry about snow.  Was up in Stratton in mid Feb and a number of runs were closed due to lack of snow.  Wondering if heading farther north will yield better results.

I was at Okemo last week. The snow was great. It was my first time there.  It has very intermediate terrain so if you are looking for steeps, trees or anything tight it does not seem like the place. Someone else may chime in who knows more about the mountain than I do.
