Ski boot width question?

Thread Starter

Just what is the relationship between a boots width and the width of any prospective ski or binding I might have in mind? I bought a pair of boots for my grown daughter's birthday and she seems very pleased with them comfort-wise. Now we need to consider skis and bindings. What say you? Thanks...

boots fit the foot,

skis are for the snow and terrain conditions,

all boots fit all bindings

Assume when you talk about width you are talking about shell width to accommodate the foot.  If yes then there is no relationship.  Get the width that fits the foot.

Not all bindings and boots fit each other and although most grown women are in adult DIN boots not all are and adult DIN boots will not work in most Jr. bindings and Jr. DIN boots will not work in any adult binding I am aware of although there are some bindings that will function with both Jr. and adult DIN soles the bindings are a compromise for growing kids and I don't usually recommend them for adults unless it is necessary to fit boot soles.
