Size of Fischer Motive 88 ? - replace K2 Outlaw & have/keep Fischer Cold Heats

I've decided to go with the Fischer Motive 88 as a new ski for me... Have not skied them... not worried...

However I would like thoughts/recommendations from those who have skied these and also skied the K2 Outlaws (07 - 88s in the 181 size) and also skied Cold Heats (176).

I currently ski 90% at Mammoth, with one trip to another Big Western Mtn area - this year it will be a wk in SLC -Snowbird/Alta with day trips to Snowbasin and Powder. Last yr - Lk Louise/Sunshine/KickingHorse.

I mostly do steeps/trees - prefer steep and narrow.

When I'm not sure of conditions I pull out the Outlaws... They do everything well, although the 181 skis seem similar (and seems the same edge length) to most other 185s. I can push them thru bumps, if I keep the line straighter, and they 'bobsled' thru tracked trees OK, but are not the quickest edge to edge. I luv rippin steep slopes on the Outlaws (as with the Cold Heats) and crud/heavily tracked.

Cold Heats are great on steep and hard snow, carving, crud, but bumps are a bit of work and I find myself going into the air more often, on purpose. Now that can be a lot of fun, but can get sketchy when you're in steep narrow bumped terrain, such as the avy chutes on Lincoln mtn.

I also have Nordica Burner Pro in 178 - these are great fun, super carver, very quick edge to edge, but get a bit sketchy/scary at speed in crud and tracked. DO NOT want another ski like this - they are fine and fill that ski style.

So want to replace the Outlaws... stay at 88...  a ski which can truck but get edge to edge a little quicker than the Outlaws - a little lighter would also not be a bad thing...

Not considering other makes/models - no watteas..

Motive 88s is it...

me - 75-76 Kg (166 lbs...)  5' 10+",  64, aggressive in an old pharte kinda way, given the choice I'll edge before I swish...

eastern roots makes me expect a full length edge...  boots are Dobie 130 Pro EDTs, small mods to softer flex...

keeping the Cold Heat and the Nordicas Burner Pro, so don;t want dupe of either...

176 or 184  ?  what would either size give me?

really appreciate your opinions and thoughts

thanks to 'daybreak' for his PM comments...

I've decided... went with 176

I've always worried about stability in crud and at speed, but Fischers have never disappointed, so I reversed my usual call - 'go longer' and decided on the shorter length...

I am gettin older, slower will prolly folllow...

plan is to take them on my upcoming SLC trip in 16 days and I want one shakedown cruise before...

and I'm not much for handwringing a decision...
