Atomic Live Fit 90...too stiff?

Hello,

I am looking to purchase my first pair of boots, and I am looking at the Atomic Live Fit series because my feet are very wide. My question is about the flex--the boot fitter had me in a 60 (I think because I told him I had started skiing again for the first time in 5 years, so he assumed I wasn't very good), which I understand to be about as soft as it gets. I am a 6'2", 215 lb, 19 yr old male and have been renting this year. I can ski blacks and the few double blacks that can be found in MN comfortably, so would a 60 flex be too soft of a boot for me? I am looking at the Live Fit 90, is that too stiff?

Any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

P.S. I did go to a boot fitter and they did their whole process (put on just the shell first, etc.) and they also told me to get a custom insole, so from what I've read I'm taking the right steps. Is there anything else I forgot to do before making an informed purchase?

At your weight a 60 flex would not support you.

Thanks for the response. Does 90 seem like a reasonable flex?

I weigh 175 and ski a 130 flex, a 90 flex seems soft to me out on the hill.  Get the foot bed and have your fore /aft stance set so that your COM (center of mass) is over the boot sole center.  Fore/aft balance position is the first adjustment that has to be right for you to ski efficiently.
