Whistler base ski locker or valet?

Tried searching net and epicski, came up empty so I thought I'd see if anyone here has an answer before simply calling around Whistler.

I have stayed on the Blackcomb side (upper village) at Whistler many times, and have worked out a sort of system to avail myself of some of the more distant (read: cheaper) accomodations without having to schlep much equipment back and forth on the shuttle.  I have been able to rent a locker for the week in the basement of the Blackcomb daylodge.  The first week of April this year the family and I will be staying fairly deep into the village (near the marketplace) and I am looking for something similar on the Whistler side.  Several rental places offer storage but as far as I can tell only if renting from them.  The lockers in the Carelton Lodge are all rented for the full season AFAIK.  Individual lodgings near the lifts have storage +/- valet but only if you are staying there (again afaik).  Any thoughts?

Carleton Lodge has a ski check in the basement, $5/night. I always use it--I hate carrying skis. Marketplace isn't that far from the lifts/Carleton--it's a pretty easy walk even in ski boots. They also have small lockers for $6 and $8 in that same room if no one wants to walk in their ski boots, and you need a place to put your shoes and other stuff.
