Which binding on Line Chronic?

I've been snowboarding for about 17 years and I was skiing before that.

I tried skiing last weekend for the first time in 17 years and loved it!!!!  I thought I forgot how to ski but, amazingly, I was pretty good.  I was able to hit small ramps and stuff.

I am 5' 10'' and 158 lbs at 32 and decided to buy Line Chronic(178cm, 121-92-117) after a lot of research.  It was so hard to decide.  I decide to enjoy little bit more of jumps and boxes on ski until I get little bit older.

I am debating between Marker Griffon(110mm) and Squire(110mm) on bindings.  I just know Marker is popular and well-known and that it is.  It seems they are pretty much same to me and there are not much of price difference.

Please help me to choose!!!  Any other recommendations are more than welcome.

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The difference is the DIN. Squire maxes at 11, Griffon 13.

I don't know specifics of the Marker line to know if anything is different in this case other than the DIN spring, but in general as you move up in DIN range, other parts get beffier too.

With your height and weight and guessing intermediate ability level, you won't be maxing DIN on either binding, so strictly from that standpoint, either would be fine.

However, if you are doing a lot of park skiing, it probably would make sense to buy the beefier binding.

I would go with a Griffon. The griffon is a much sturdier unit.

I'd get the model with a 90 mm brake. A good binding tech could tweak the brakes, so there can be more brake clearance.
