I am in the market for a new set of skis and need some help from my peers. I'm late 20's guy, strong and a very aggressive skier. 5'10, 210 lbs (although I typically am around 200, and s/b).
I love hard charging groomers/steep stuff, playing in the bumps/trees and getting into fresh snow/powder as much as I possibly can. I am an east coast skier who does 1 trip out west every year. If I'm skiing w/ my buddies or by myself I my time in the glades, steep stuff and bumps. When I ski with my girlfriend and family I typically stick to blues and groomers. I'm currently rocking a pair of 2007 K2 Apache Recon's. They are have incredible for me but I've skiied all the pop out of them and need more ski. They're also 167's and I know I should be on something bigger.
Seeing as though I reside in the east I see a lot more hard pack and ice than I do powder. I do go to Utah for 4-7 days each year though. My sister has the women's version of the Kendo's and she swears by them. I love Volkl's product and am intrigued by the Kendo and Mantra but then again the Blizzard Bonafide is rated ski of the year everywhere I look. I would love to hear people's opinion who've skied all 3. Help a brother out.
