Yes, if you're using the tool beveling is sharpening. Beveling will be done with a file but you can follow up with a stone to make it even smoother and sharper. You can get finer and finer stones or diamond files (or even sandpaper). The further you go the sharper it'll be (and also very shiny) but it's "not necessary. I'd suggest looking at www.tognar.com
