So I have finished 9 months of rehab on an ACL replacement and I'm celebrating with new skis. I've decided on the line prophet 98. I'm am East Coast skier with occasional trips out west. Advanced skills definitely still have allot to learn, skiing for 38 years, I'm 44, 5'10", 185lbs. Need some suggestions on length of skis. This is my first pair over 90mm in the waist. Thanks

179 should be fine for you.  You have the size to bend and turn the P98s easily.

My son is 6' 160 pounds and skis 178cm Elan 888.  With you weight you might want more 175-180cm.  Demo them in different sizes if you can.

If you are a strong skier you might overpower the P98 at 179. It's a quite soft ski and really easy to manage. I'm 5'5" and 150 ans I have the 172 and sometimes I wish it was a little bit more stiff...

If you want an easy going ski then go 179, you you want to charge a little bit more you might have to find something else... not sure if I would size up to 186. Maybe something stiffer like Bonafide 180.

But again, if you like soft, easy going skis then 179 is your size and should be about your height tip to tail since they are shorter than the stated size, mine is about 170 tip to tail.

179 will be a good length.

I'm 52 y/o, 6-1, 175, advanced level. I ski the 179cm.

Thanks guys. I demoed them a season ago and wish i could demo them again before i buy them but I'm rehabbing an ACL replacement and won't be on skis until November 2013. I'd like to try the Bonafides, heard good things, but i didn't want to pass up the spring prices. Sounds like the 179 would be a good length.

That's great you're able to go again, we just bought my wife Line Celebrity 90s on sale :-). On the Bonafides, and I have not skied them, I hear/read they are a slightly stiffer ski than the Prophet 98s. That said, they might take a little more effort to get the most out of them (thinking about your ACL). Again, all speculation on my part. Good luck and have fun in November!

Thanks 3whoski! I was talking to a friend who does some pro work and skis similar conditions to me and he was saying the bonafides are great but maybe not the best in a chute our amongst the trees. You have to argue with them to turn..ha ha. Looks like I'm headed for some Line P98s in the 179 length.

P98 are great in trees! Very easy to turn in tight spots! You will have fun!
