Comments: These skis rocked. I was lucky enough to be in Europe last month and picked them up with the Xentrix 412 bindings for around $500. Was very unsure about the length...my Merlin 193's are the shortest skis I've been on since 1975. The length was fine. I was fortunate enough to hit Snowbird last week on the 2 big powder days (13 & 14 MAR). Alta reported 59" in 30 hours on these 2 days. For powder skiing, these skis were better than anything I've ever skied (mostly straight slalom skis, 203-207cm). They carved through the cutup stuff like it was fresh. The skis were awesome in a couple of steep, narrow chutes...very responsive and quick; I felt more confident on these skis than I've ever felt on the super-steep, super-narrow chutes off the Cirque. I found a groomer towards the end of the second day and decided to see how these skis worked at speed...as long as you don't go straight, they are extremely stable and they lay some wicked arcs. The skis wobbled when going straight at speed despite my best efforts to pressure the tips, the middles, and then the tails. I didn't change the binding position (Variozone-has 4 settings similar to Marker's Selective Control); just left it on all-around setting. Didn't demo these before buying...something I've never done before, but in the end, I'm glad I got them. I figured I could get at least what I paid on eBay if I hated them. Sorry, they're not for sale!
