Is mid-March too late for powder in Hokaido?

I may be doing a trip the week of 16 March.  Is this too late to find powder in Hokaido.  The other option is the Alps.

I've had great powder in March in Hokkaido, but it really depends on the year. Europe seems to be getting pounded this season. Friends in Verbier are having an epic year. Tough call, but I haven't looked at any long term forecasts either... Not that those are worth a whole lot. Honestly, just go where your heart is telling you. Even if things aren't optimal, you'll have a great adventure.

You can definitely still get really epic pow in Niseko in March, but I'd say Asahidake might be a more sure bet at that time of year as it's higher.
